Sign-off from when KXTV was a CBS affiliate and owned by Belo. Jim Anthony, their main announcer through the 70s and mid-80s does the voiceover here. Includes "The Lord's Prayer" but no national anthem. When KXTV first got stereo capability they used a very annoying processed stereo effect on mono material, this was recorded on one of the first VHS Hi-Fi decks with a stereo TV tuner.
Preceding the sign-off is a song by a couple hippie Jesus freaks, attributed to the Interfaith Service Bureau.
KXTV usually signed off only on Friday and Saturday nights, which you'd think would be the nights most people would actually be watching TV at those hours. CBS News Nightwatch filled the night hours the rest of the week, which strangely the neighboring CBS affiliates didn't carry and would sometimes sign-off instead. The "10" logo seen here had been in use since 1978, by fall 1986 they changed it to a plainer-looking number similar to the one they used before, and the sign-off was updated with the new logo and a different announcer.
