According to reports, President Trump 'may live tweet' James Comey's testimony on Thursday.
Former FBI Director James Comey is set to publicly testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday.
President Trump has a busy schedule that day but he's still expected to be active on Twitter.
According to Newsweek, the religious group Faith & Freedom Coalition has confirmed that Trump has agreed to speak at one of their events called 'Road to Majority' around the time that Comey’s session would be underway.
That said, the president may still watch some of his testimony or be aware of what is being said and respond, with the Washington Post’s Robert Costa tweeting Tuesday, “I'm told by two WH sources that Pres. Trump does not plan to put down Twitter on Thursday. May live tweet if he feels the need to respond.”
Costa had also said on MSNBC that Trump is inclined to respond directly via social media because he “wants to be the messenger, his own warrior, his own lawyer, his own spokesman.”
Comey’s testimony is expected to draw such a large audience that all three major networks--NBC, ABC, and CBS--have announced that they will broadcast the hearing live.
It will be the first time since the former FBI director was fired last month that he will talk publicly about his interactions with Trump.
