At lease nine people were killed, including three suspects shot by police, and more than 40 others taken to hospital when a van drove into pedestrians on London Bridge and three men armed with knives attacked people near Borough Market.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement that armed officers shot and killed the three suspects.
In this dashcam footage recorded by a taxi driver crossing London Bridge, bodies can be seen lying on the pavement as people appear to administer first aid.
Prime Minister Theresa May said the incident was being treated as a potential act of terror, while Sadiq Khan, the London mayor, denounced what had happened as “a horrific terrorist attack.”
