Manchester United 2008 XI vs Michael Carrick All-Star 2-2 Highlights & Goals
Micheal Carrick Testimonial Friendly, 04 June 2017.

0-1 Mendieta
1-1 Nemanja Vidic
1-2 Robbie Kean
2-2 Michael Carrick

Michael Carrick's testimonial match at Old Trafford between an all-star team and the Manchester United '08 squad finished in a 2-2 draw on Sunday, with the midfielder scoring the final goal.

Gaizka Mendieta gave the Michael Carrick All-Stars the lead against the run of play, but Nemanja Vidic pulled the hosts level before half-time.

Man Utd dominated after the break, but Robbie Keane took advantage of a mistake to reclaim the lead for the All-Stars. Carrick himself tied things up before leaving the pitch to a standing ovation.

Chances were few in number early on. Clarence Seedorf showed class is permanent with some expert passing, and Patrice Evra claimed a penalty after contact with Carragher.

Paul Scholes released Wayne Rooney, who only just missed the target with a lob, before Seedorf opened up the defence with a stunning pass, and a quick move involving Eric Abidal and Keane resulted in a Mendieta goal.

Evra and Rooney combined for a huge chance immediately after kick-off, with the latter heading wide. The hosts were rewarded for their attacking intentions shortly after, as Vidic delivered one of his typical headers after a corner from Giggs.

Carrick himself went close with a strike from 25 yards out with goalkeeper Shay Given not paying any attention, and Scholes tried his luck as well, with the stopper intervening.

The United XI remained the better team, but similar to the first half, the All-Stars proved more efficient. Keane calmly worked the ball past Edwin van der Sar after taking advantage of some comical defending.

The All-Stars showed their quality after the second goal, taking control of proceedings, but they couldn't stop the man of the hour from tying things up. Carrick finished off a fine move with one of his final kicks of the ball, as he left the pitch after 84 minutes.
