Amazon will have to give parents up to $70 million after the Federal Trade Commission announced that parents with children who made in-app purchases are eligible for a refund. This stems from a court ruling last year that stated Amazon did not have sufficient disclosures that prevented kids from buying things in-app without their parents permission. A similar situation occurred to Apple and Google back in 2014, with both companies refunding customers and no longer marking apps as "free" if they offered in-app purchases.
