Sri Lankans Commute by Motor Boats Amid Flooding

Sri Lankas resorted to motor boats in their daily commute during extensive flooding.

This video shows the scene in Kaduwela, a western suburb of the capital Colombo.

At least 151 peopled died in killed in flooding and landslides following one of the worst rains in over a decade, according to meteorology officials, Reuters reported. Authorities reached stranded people by helicopters and boats but had difficulty getting to the hard-hit areas in the southern and western part of the country.

The Indian Navy has sent ships, supplies and aid to Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo, the Hindustan Times reported.
