A man who reportedly bitten on the leg while hiking in the Gold Coast hinterland was airlifted to the hospital on May 24.
The Rescue 500 Brisbane was called out to Purlingbrook Falls in Springbrook to attend to a 20-year-old man who was bitten by the reptile.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson told Storyful they received a call around 3.15 pm on Wednesday afternoon from a friend of the patient. The friend was instructed to download the Emergency Plus app on their phone to provide the longitude and latitude so the helicopter could geo-locate them. The patient was flown to Prince Alexandra Hospital in stable condition.
