Taiwan’s constitutional court has ruled that same-sex couples have the right to marry, paving the way for Taiwan to become the first Asian country to allow same-sex marriage.

The court, known as the Judicial Yuan, gave legislators two years to make the necessary amendments to current laws.

This video shows a crowd celebrating on a street near the Taiwan High Court, after watching news of the ruling on an outdoor screen.
