Police Cordon Off Block of Flats in South Manchester as Part of Investigation Into Arena Attack

Greater Manchester Police cordoned off a block of flats on Carlton Road, in Whalley Range, south Manchester, on May 23. The police said they had executed warrants as part of the investigation into the Manchester Arena attack the previous night.

The Manchester Evening News reported that at least six armed officers were scrambled to the scene.

Elsewhere in the city, an explosion was reported and armed police were seen in Fallowfield, at about the same time police said a 23-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the attack. Police had also indicated that they had executed a warrant in Fallowfield, and that an explosion had taken place there.
