Two men were given 83 lashes each outside a mosque in Aceh, Indonesia, on May 23, for the crime of gay sex.
The punishment was meted out before a crowd estimated at 2,500.
Islamic laws against homosexuality were passed in Aceh in 2014. It is the only region of Indonesia to have such laws.
