A firefighter was rescued by his colleagues in Iron Mountain, Michigan, on Saturday, May 20, after the burning facade of a gas station convenience store collapsed, trapping him underneath.

According to local reports, the firefighter was trapped for about two minutes before being rescued and taken to the hospital to be treated for burns. A second Iron Mountain firefighter was reportedly hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.

Later on Saturday, the Iron Mountain Fire Department said on Facebook that both firefighters were “doing good.” On Sunday, the department thanked those who had helped: “All of the members of IMFD would like to thank all of those individuals who put themselves in harm’s way to help us rescue one of our members at the fire yesterday. We are forever grateful for your selfless act of heroism.”
