English singer-songwriter Tom Odell rose to prominence when his hit song Another Love hit the airwaves in 2012. A handful of years and two successful albums later, the balladeer reckons he knows a thing or two about songwriting. More importantly, he knows what he wants out of his songs, and can feel when he’s on the right track. The key, Odell says, is living a creatively healthy life. “I can recognize the mood that i’m in when i’m about to write a good song, I know what it feels like. It doesn’t happen very often, and a lot of the time you’re frantically trying to get back there.”
