On May 20, the 12th and final convoy of Syrian rebels and their families left Homs’ besieged neighborhood of al-Waer as part of a resettlement agreement that the Syrian government claims will help end fighting in the area.
15 buses carrying 553 people including 150 rebels left al-Waer neighborhood to the opposition held cities of Idlib and Jarablous cities under the supervision of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent “SARC” and the Russian military police, the Syrian sate agency (SANA) said.
Russian troops began entering al-Waer as part of the deal to protect people who decided to stay in the neighborhoods, opposition media reported.
