On Thursday, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a report that may have you second guessing before taking your kiddies to the pool. In the report, rates of a parasitic, diarrhea-causing infections have doubled from 2014 to 2016. The CDC reported 32 Cryptosporidium infections in 2016 at water playgrounds and pools. Michele Hlavsa, the chief of the CDC's Healthy Swimming Program, reminded parents to be cautious when taking their kids out to swim. "Take kids on bathroom breaks every hour, and check diapers in a diaper-changing area and not right next to the pool. We all share the water we swim in, but we don't want to share germs, pee or poop." - Michele Hlvasa
