Ford Motor announced on Wednesday that they would cut 1,400 positions in North America and Asia. The car company said that the cuts were an effort to “reducing costs and becoming as lean and efficient as possible.” Ford chief executive Mark Fields was criticized at the company’s annual shareholder meeting for their failing performance. Ford saw their sales fall 5.6 percent in the first four months of 2017. They expect the job reductions to be complete by the end of September this year.
