ESTACADA, OREGON — A man in Estacada, Oregon, allegedly killed his 59-year-old mother on Mother’s Day and was seen walking into a grocery store carrying her head before stabbing a store clerk.
Witnesses said the suspect, Joshua Lee Webb, 36, walked into Thriftway Harvest Market with a knife while carrying his mother’s severed head around 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Oregon’s KGW News reported.
After Webb walked into the store, he stabbed 66-year-old store employee Michael Wagner up to seven times. Despite his injuries, Wagner was able to wrestle Webb to the floor, giving other employees enough time to to help and subdue him until police arrived.
At 2:35 p.m., officers received a call about a dead woman inside a home on the 25000 block of Elwood Road in Colton. Deputies arrived and confirmed the body belonged to Webb’s mother, 59-year-old Tina Webb, KOIN 6 reported.
Webb was booked into Clackamas County Jail Monday afternoon for murder and attempted murder, then later hospitalized for psychological evaluation.
