Family Threatened With Ejection From JetBlue Flight Over Birthday Cake

A Jersey City family were threatened with ejection from a JetBlue flight in early May over a birthday cake. The Burke family, with mom Minta, dad Cameron and two children, celebrated Minta’s birthday with a cake, prompting a security alert.

Staff on board the flight reportedly confronted the family when they removed the birthday cake from the luggage hold, in order to celebrate the mom’s birthday.

It’s believed airline staff deemed the cake a security risk, calling airport police in from Kennedy Airport. This caused the Burke children to become upset. In the video, the security officer is seen trying to calm the upset children, saying no one was in trouble.

We have reached out to the family for original copies of the video, and for further information.
