A 101-year-old veteran of the D-day landings on Sunday, May 14, reportedly became the oldest person in the world to skydive.

Bryson William Verdun Hayes, a former Royal Signals lance corporal, completed the tandem jump from 15,000ft at an airfield in Honiton, Devon.

A spokesman for the Royal British Legion told the Guardian that Hayes would be celebrating with a glass of champagne.
