Zookeepers at Denmark’s Copenhagen Zoo called in a dentist after noticing that one of their new arrivals, Nord the polar bear, had a badly damaged tooth.

This footage shows Hanne Kortegaard from the University of Copenhagen’s University Hospital for Companion Animals operating on Nord, who was transferred to the zoo from Russia in April.

The zoo said in a statement that one broken tooth was removed under anesthesia but Nord will need follow-up treatment for a problem canine tooth next month.
