Millions of South Koreans are taking to the polls on Tuesday to elect a new president, following six months of political turmoil. Liberal candidate Moon Jae-in is a front-runner against centrist Ahn Cheol-soo who is also in the lead, among 13 candidates. The election is being closely watched amid escalating tensions with North Korea. Unlike the former leader Park Guen-hye who cut all ties with North Korea, Moone Jae-in plans to increase contact with the bordering country if elected.
