Rising floodwater in many parts of Quebec, Canada, submerged streets and overwhelmed waterways on Saturday, May 6. This video, recorded at the Chenaux Generating Station 62 miles upstream from Gatineau, shows the effects of flood surge there.
Many areas near Gatineau were blocked, including Highway 50 eastbound between Rue Montcalm and Highway 5. Local residents helped fill 15,000 sandbags, according to reports. No causalities were reported.
