Hi, I’m Nola Aronson from Advanced Audiology.
Our most popular type of hearing aid is called ‘the receiver in the canal’ hearing aid, shortened meaning RIC and that is very tiny. This part that sits behind your ear comes in many, many different colors as you can see here so you get to either match your style or match your hair, match your skin color – which ever you prefer. The reason that this is the best is because we can change the power of the part that goes inside your ear without you ever having to get a new hearing aid.
Now, the part that most people talk about is what we call ‘the completely in the canal’ hearing aid and that’s because it goes way deep down inside your ear canal. The problem is, if you have normal hearing in the low frequencies, you’ll block off your normal hearing and you’ll feel like you have a plug in your ear. They also tend to break down a lot more because wax and moisture can get into the ones that are inside your ear. And then we have the larger ones that do end up showing on the outside of your ear but some people like it all in one piece so they would prefer to have this style. And then there’s a new style called the Lyric. This is like a contact lens for your ear. We put it inside your ear and you can sleep with it, take a shower with it, go swimming with it, and we change it every two to two and a half months but it’s sold like by a subscription.
If you’re really looking for a solution to your hearing problem, you can contact me right now for a free hearing screening so we can see what the problem is. In some cases, it can be a wax build-up inside the ears that may not require any hearing aids at all, but you won’t know until you have a hearing test. To schedule a free hearing screening, call us today at the number below on your screen.
