Parts of Pocahontas, Arkansas, remained flooded on May 4, due to spillover from the Black River. Rainfall was expected to continue for 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service on that date.
They reported “record flood levels,” saying floodwaters had breached levees, resulting in “potentially life-threatening flooding” in a number of area.
According to the Department of Defense , more than “120 Arkansas Army and Air National Guardsmen [were] supporting 8 different disaster relief operations” in three counties affected by the floods.
