Bugs like the anomalocaris canadensis, a mixture of shrimp and squid with its razor-sharp teeth, roamed the Earth long ago and are still roaming the earth now. There were also giant dragonflies like the Protodonata, known as griffinflies, that had wingspans stretching nearly 2.5 feet across.
