Syrian Rebels Release Video Said to Show 'Failed' IS Suicide Attack

In the wake of a deadly attack by Islamic State fighters on its positions near Shaddadi, in Hasakah province, the Syrian Democratic Forces released CCTV footage it said showed the “fear and confusion” of one attacker.

The assault left more than 30 civilians and fighters dead, reports on May 2 said, with some of the attackers targeting a camp for displaced people near Shaddadi.

The footage released by the SDF is described as showing the failure of one of the May 2 attackers in Shaddadi and shows him coming under fire, before an explosion is seen.

Storyful cannot verify the identity of the person or the location of the incident, though its release does tally with accounts of Islamic State attacks in the area on the same day.
