Eight people were killed and at least 28 others injured in a suicide bombing that targeted a NATO convoy near the US embassy in Kabul on the morning of Wednesday, May 3.
The armored vehicles that were targeted belonged to the NATO-led Resolute Support mission, which was launched in January 2015 to “provide further training, advice and assistance for the Afghan security forces and institutions.”
A spokesman for Resolute Support said three US service members were among the wounded.
According to RFE, Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
