Russian diplomacy: Putin talks with Merkel and Trump

Russian leader has spoken with US counterpart over the phone, in their first known conversation since Trump ordered missile strikes on a Syrian air base. Earlier in the day he met with German Chancellor Angela in Russia's Sochi.
