About a week ago, an emergency animal service in South Yorkshire, U.K., found an elderly dog who had been abandoned in a fairly remote area.
She was tied to a bush and left on a wet blanket. Personnel with the South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance also discovered a note.
It read, in part, “The dog (Tessa) is 12 years old. (Tessa) is not my dog…My neighbor asked me if I would take charge of Tessa. As my neighbor has planned herself a new life in (Canada.) Reluctantly I said yes (but) I did know I will not keep Tessa…I don’t need a dog.”
The pet service shared news of the canine’s plight on Facebook, noting, “Some scumbag…dumped this dog.”
In a series of updates, the South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance said they’d given her a warm meal, gotten her to shelter, and noted that the dog would soon be available for adoption.
It also noted, “As for the Scumbag who dumped her - we now know who he is…”
At this time, it is unclear what they are planning to do with that information.
