This video shows a twin otter STOL plane landing and taking off at Lukla airstrip in the Khumbu region of Nepal. This is how many trekkers to Everest start their journeys. This video was taken before the airstrip was tarmacked and was just a dirt strip. It is called the Ski jump as there is a 10% incline. There is also footage taken from high on the Zatra-la pass of a plane coming into land. It shows the vast scale of the Himalayas.
