At least 13 civilians in Kafr Naha, located in western Aleppo province, were killed after airstrikes destroyed a residential complex on April 30. White Helmet rescuers worked overnight into May 1 in an attempt to rescue any remaining survivors.
Since the Assad government’s capture of the city of Aleppo in December 2016, western areas of the province, which still remain under rebel control, have been targeted on a frequent basis. White Helmet rescuers have accused both the Syrian and Russian militaries of using banned incendiary munitions and other larger munitions in regularity over the past month alone.
