1000 GIG is known for supplying quality multicode optical transceivers and has recently come out with a range of devices that can work well with multiple vendor platforms.
1000 GIG use comprehensive knowledge of how various vendors format their internal memory. This cannot be done by companies that merely copy the EEPROM content of an original device and reproduce the same several times.
This is not to say that multicode products are perfect and have no limitations. For example, vendors still need mutually exclusive information in EEPROM, and this information, such as the part number should be unique. Just one part number, which is supported by the OEM, can be programmed.
