Florida schools warned parents in a letter that there was an increase in at-risk behavior in the wake of Netflix's series '13 Reasons Why.' "Students involved in the recent incidents have articulated associations of their at-risk behavior to the “13 Reasons Why” Netflix series," the letter. Schools worry that the series, which follows a teen who takes her own life, glorifies suicide and self-harm. Only last week, New Jersey schools notified parents that they will provide more mental health counselors due to the show.
