The last sections of a dying oak tree where George Washington, the first US president, picnicked during the American Revolution were removed on Wednesday, April 26.
The removal work began on Monday.
Spectators "cheered and clapped for the smooth removal of the tree’s stump.
The 600-year-old tree in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, would not withstand upcoming “harsh winters or spring storms,” said arborists, reported NBC New York.
