France's defeated political parties are urging voters to cast their ballots against the far-right leader Marine Le Pen of the National Front party. Following the results of the first round of elections, Le Pen is running against center-left Emmanuel Macron in the final race for presidency. European Union's chief Brexit negotiator described Marcon as a "patriot." German Chancellor Angela Merkel's chief of staff agreed, calling on voters to avoid the extreme-right party.
