Cylinder explosion occurred on April 16 on Naval ship INS Nireekshak. As per the reports, three sailors were injured in the accident and have been hospitalized. The ship was 40 nautical miles off the coast of Vizhinjam. Two of the sailors were treated for splinter injuries, but the right leg of the diver had to be amputated above the knee.
