LONDON, September 4
Tunisia's Abderrahim ZHIOU struck gold and set a world record in the men's 1500m T12 at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday - just 24 hours after taking silver in the 5000m. He outsprinted his Kenyan rival David KORIR (KEN) in the last 50m to win in a world record three minutes 48.31 seconds. KORIR, with a lesser visual impairment and classified as T13, was also inside the old world record with 3:48.84.
"The crowd is incredible. It helps us to run a good time. It gives me motivation, and gives me strength when I hear people cheering." - David KORIR
