An avid photographer and admirer of the Southern Lights has gathered timelapse videos of the phenomena during 2017.
Nick Wong filmed timelapse footage of the stunning auroras while on a chartered flight that departed from Dunedin, New Zealand, and flew two-thirds of the way to the South Pole.
Wong, a cancer research scientist who hails from Melbourne, Australia, moved to Dunedin three years earlier, where he found his new calling – and hobby.
Wong told Storyful that he became inspired with timelapse videos of the nighttime skies after watching the House of Cards’ main title sequence. Credit: Nick Wong via Storyful
