US Sen. Dean Heller and Rep. Mark Amodei, both Nevada Republicans, faced angry constituents during a Reno town hall on Monday, April 17, particularly when Heller was asked about his recent votes to cut funding to Planned Parenthood.
Heller initially told his constituents that he would “protect” the organization, although he wasn’t sure federal funds should cover “some of the activities”. The senator recently voted to allow states to completely defund the organization’s Title X funding, even though the federal funds do not cover abortions.
“We know how you voted, senator,” one woman told him. “We saw it.”
