Freaky Feasts #4: Filipino eyeball and brain stew (matuk)

2017-04-18 1

On this episode of Freaky Feasts, we take you to Iloilo City in the Visayas region of the Philippines to sample a local delicacy known as matuk. What is it, you ask? A hearty stew made of beef eyeballs and brains snipped up by scissors into a chewy, minced paste. This is a stew best enjoyed whilst drunk, and most eateries don't begin serving it until 2:30.
