Bastia's Ligue 1 clash with Lyon has been called off after home fans twice stormed the Armand Cesari pitch in an attempt to attack away players.
Former Man United winger Memphis Depay was confronted during the warm-up before further trouble occurred at half time as players headed for the tunnel.
The match was delayed as discussions were held between officials of both clubs and authorities while it was decided whether the match would continue.
A row of stewards stood facing the Bastia fans, preventing them from encroaching onto the pitch before news came through that the game had been abandoned.
