The Italian Coast Guard hoisted a sick passenger from a cruise ship upon their helicopter near the island of Capri on Wednesday, April 12.
The Austrian passenger was suspected to have suffered a stroke aboard the Albatros cruise ship, operated by the German company Phoenix Reisen. The ship was travelling from Giardini-Naxos, Sicily, to Genoa, according to cruise tracking website CruiseMapper.
The Coast Guard said the passenger was sent to Ospedale Antonio Cardarelli hospital in Naples and was conscious and in “reasonable” health.
