Gunshots were heard as police tried to control hundreds of protesters marching in Caracas, Venezuela, on April 4 to protest President Nicolas Maduro and the Venezuelan Supreme Court’s move against the National Assembly.

Journalists and activists on the scene reported several people injured after police fired shots at the protesters. This video shows Lilian Tintori, activist and wife of Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, holding bullet casings.

On March 30 the Supreme Court in Caracas moved to take power from Venezuela’s elected National Assembly, which was led by parties opposed to Maduro and has been critical of his policies. The move drew criticism and condemnation from Venezuelan opposition politicians and international governments alike.
