Thousands of people were displaced when Nigerian security forces raided and demolished a slum on the outskirts of Lagos on Sunday, April 9, with one person killed during the police action.
The Otodo Gbame settlement was, at one point, home to tens of thousands of people, but a series of raids and evictions since November 2016 had reduced that number. The latest move has left over 4,600 people homeless, according to Vanguard.
