Shopping Street - Siam Square 暹罗广场

Rama I and Ploenchit, two connecting roads that bridge three main intersections of central Bangkok: Rama I, Ratchaprasong and Chidlom are also known as the Bangkok Shopping Street, equivalent to Ginza in Tokyo, Orchard in Singapore and Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur.

It all starts at Siam Square, a low-rise complex of shophouses home to hip boutiques of young Thai designers and teenage activities so that global trotters call it a Bangkok version of Harajuku. Across the street are three sister shopping malls: Siam Discovery, Siam Center and Siam Paragon, featuring three different characters: Siam Discovery is packed with high-street brands like Marc Jacobs and Diesel as well as Thai furniture brands, while its top floors see a number of fine dining venues and Madam Tussaud’s wax museum. Siam Center is the best place to shop established and edgy Thai designers amid cutting-edge interior designs with interactive media. Siam Paragon is the luxury mall to shop top brands like Hermes, Chanel, Gucci and Saint Laurent.

At Ratchaprasong intersection is CentralWorld, Southeast Asia’s largest lifestyle complex that houses two mall-in-mall: Zen and Isetan. It is also the place to host Bangkok New Year Countdown annually. Across the street are Gaysorn and Erawan Bangkok, where you find the most luxurious fashion brands in the world in one place. Walk further and you’ll reach Central Chidlom, the legendary upscale shopping mall to find selective luxury brands from around the world as well as top Thai designers.

Opening hours: All malls open daily, 10am - 10 pm, except Gaysorn (10am - 8pm). Shops in Siam Square usually open daily 11am-8pm.
