Ford will be releasing a hybrid police pursuit car perfect for high-speed chases. Ford Motor Co. announced that the The Police Responder Hybrid Sedan will be an improvement of their hybrid Fusion midsize sedan. According to Ford, police cars usually spend 60 percent of their-on duty time on idle, so the hybrid cars will use little to no gas while on idle. The car will feature stronger brakes, engine cooling, skid plates, and front seat cushions that will fit equipment belts and gun holsters. The car will be tested by the Los Angles Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police in the fall.
