Road accidents of various kinds have been witnessed by people all over the world that has left many injured. From accidents caused by rash driving to the ones that are caused by potholes and improper infrastructure, we have seen it all. But the recent accident in Chennai is like no other. A road in Chennai’s Anna Salai area caved in, making a bus and car fall inside.Videos and pictures of the horrific incident has left commuters in a state of shock and bewilderment. The bus driver has told news agencies that the incident occurred when the bus was parked at a bus stop near the Gemini Flyover. All the travellers have been rescued from the spot and a few motorists have escaped with minor injuries.
However, the picture shows a scary image of the future as a completely normal road caved in. People cannot help but raise fingers at the state of infrastructure in the country and are trying to understand the reason behind this mishap. According to reports a hole had been dug at the site of the accident for the construction of the Chennai Metro Line. However, the hole was not closed properly which led to the collapse of the entire road. Twitterati have been left in a state of shock as pictures and videos of the incident flood the social media. Even though the incident has not cost anybody’s life, the scene as terrified people and made them question the quality of construction work in the city.
