To begin A Connection to the Past, you must go and talk to a man working on a dig in some ruins between the Temple Gateway and Hubris Farm. He'll introduce himself, and ask for a favor: find the sacred tablets that go on the wall of the temple.
Recover all of the lost tablets.
Deliver the tablets to Simham.
At the beginning of this mission you'll start in the general area of two of the tablets. You have three waypoints to go and check; once you get near one of these waypoints, however, it will vanish and be replaced by a grayed area on the minimap that gives you a general idea where the tablet is. To start, go to the temple that's straight ahead. There should be water not too far in from the entrance.
Follow the path to the left. It will go into the water. Dive in, and follow the steps to the bottom of the pool. Near the end of the steps, and a little off to your right, is the tablet. Pick it up and swim back up to the surface.
Next, go out to the entrance of the ruin-area. There will be a small structure, only slightly taller than the one in the first search area. Go into it, and the tablet should be lying on the ground.
From here, you must venture down the road a little to get to another ruin. To get to the tablet in this one, you must go up the right set of stairs, then climb the vine before you. This will place you in front of a stone wall. Use some sort of explosive to destory it, and the path will open up.
After taking down the wall, walk across the bridge. Along with a dead body, there lies the third and final tablet. Grab it, and go back to Simham.
He'll thank you, and then pay you $500.
