Crowds of mainly young people took to the streets of Belgrade on April 3 to protest against the victory of Aleksandar Vucic in Serbia’s presidential election the previous day.

Vucic, a conservative who had been serving as Serbia’s prime minister, claimed 55 percent of the vote, avoiding a runoff and soundly defeating the leading opposition candidate, Sasa Jankovic.
