Verizon has announced a major rebranding of Yahoo following its billion-dollar acquisition of the tech company. Yahoo will merge with AOL to form a company known as Oath. Verizon, who took control of iconic sites like Yahoo search and mail, is possibly planning an Oath launch for summer 2017. AOL CEO Tim Armstrong Yahoo originally agreed to sell its internet operations to Verizon in July for $4.83 billion, but after it was revealed in September that a Russian hack breached 500 million user accounts back in 2014, the company scraped $350 million off its asking price.
