Tornado warnings were issued for south-east Virginia on March 31 following a storm front which brought strong winds and hailstones during the day.
The Virginian Pilot reported cars were damaged and trees were toppled after a hail storm swept through the region; another line of storms was expected later in the evening.
This video shows heavy rain and hail as a funnel cloud forms in Virginia Beach. Flashes of light can be seen, though it is unclear whether these are caused by lighting or by the storm hitting electrical equipment.
